What Does Fear Mean To You?

Lions and tigersWhat have you heard about fear? Many of us have seen the acronym F.E.A.R. standing for False Evidence Appearing Real .  This is certainly one way of looking at it. I think we can all think back of things in our life that we feared and in so many of these cases, what we feared could happen and its consequences never materialized.

Ask yourself, how many times have you really feared doing something and had doubts ,then when you went ahead and did it, you wondered why you feared doing it so much? How about the regrets that you felt that you did not do the thing you feared earlier?

People typically fear the things that will help them grow most. Those of us who have learned this, know that we must push through this fear and reach the other side. The other side holds a feeling of accomplishment. It can hold enlightenment. It can hold a new and wonderful relationship. In the sales profession, it can hold a wonderful new customer relationship that showcases the talent you have in solving the customer’s particular challenges.

I have also observed 2 other acronyms for Fear and it seems to be a choice.

F.E.A.R. – Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise.

Which one of these will you choose. Will you choose to be Fearless? Facing your fears is like a muscle. The more you face your fears, the stronger and easier it becomes. Keep setting that bar higher. Be acutely aware and present in during your days so that you can know when this is a particular situation that you need to face your fears.

We are approaching the holidays and these situations can be filled with fear and dread. I hope you face them. I hope you ask yourself, how it is that you want to show up to these activities. How do you want to show up at these situations-whether these are business and office events or family and personal events.

You will not believe the rush you feel after you have met these fearful situations and come out the other side. You meet these fears and you will find yourself moving more toward other things that you fear and facing these fears.

I hope you live fearlessly…like a Lion or Tiger!
